  1. I'm going the boring route and attempting spicy dill pickles. I hate storebought pickles, so this month's going to be a challenge.

  3. Hey - I've been pronouncing it wrong all these years! I like mine better though (KOOK-kur-bit). I might just stay ignorant...

  4. I love this month, I have already done two and hope to do at least one more! Of course that won't be the end. My cukes are just now coming in so I can't wait for the round up for new adventures.

  5. So far in my garden, I have one cuke that's 3" long and a whole bunch that are about 1". They're so cute!

I love that you included the pronunciation link. That's a great feature of The Free Dictionary. (Sometimes S and I make it say dirty words. I know, what are we, 12?) They have a great iPhone app, too. :-)

  8. Hi, I'm new to your blogs and have to say I've been enjoying them a lot. Coming from a part of the world that has never lost the art of preserving, and learning to do it myself in the last couple of years, I'm thrilled that you are bringing it back into focus for others.

I don't often comment as I'm more of a reader, I couldn't resist chiming in when I saw that you have some Cream of Saskatchewan in your patch. And that's where I'm from - Saskatchewan born and raised. So thanks for spreading the canning love and for knowing how to spell Saskatchewan. :)
